Sayed Abdelhafiz, Al Ahly director of football, reflected on Al Ahly’s goalless draw against El Gouna in Matchday 1 of the EPL Cup group stage. 

In his post-match interview, Abdelhafiz spoke about the performance of our youth players and his pre-match team talk to the players.

“Today’s game was an opportunity to give some playing time for the youngsters and the players who did not participate during the previous period." 

“Before the game, we stressed the importance of converting all the chances into goals to the players and that they must have confidence in themselves."

"The team is suffering from many absences, but all the players put on a good performance against a tough opponent.” 

“Many of the injured players will be back in action in the upcoming period and Pitso Mosimane, the team’s head coach, will decide whether or not they’ll be ready to participate in Ismaily’s encounter.

Abdelhafiz concluded by praising Mohamed Hany for his great performance and his leadership during today’s encounter against  El Gouna.
